- US President Donald Trump has picked his daughter, Tiffany’s father-in-law, Massad Boulos, as his Senior Advisor for Africa.This is an additional role, following his appointment last year to serve as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs.
His appointment was announced on Tuesday by the State Department spokesperson, Tammy Bruce.
“The Department of State is pleased to announce the appointment of Massad Boulos as Senior Advisor for Africa. Senior Advisor Boulos also serves as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs,” she said.
According to the State Department, his most immediate task is a visit to East African countries including Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda over the situation in Eastern DRC.
- The visit is scheduled to start on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
- Boulos is expected to travel alongside Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Corina Sanders, together with whom they will meet Heads of State and various key players in the four countries.

“During the trip, Senior Advisor Boulos and the team will meet with Heads of State and business leaders to advance efforts for durable peace in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and to promote US private sector investment in the region,” Bruce’s statement further reads.
Massad Fares Boulos is a Lebanese-born American businessman and political associate of President Donald Trump.
He is the father of Michael Boulos and the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter Tiffany.
Boulos spent a large part of his professional life in Nigeria, where he has been involved in several businesses, including a trucking and heavy machinery company.
