Fatal Nakuru Road Accident Claims Seven Lives
In a tragic turn of events, the death toll from the road accident near Eveready Roundabout in Nakuru has risen to seven. The incident involved a collision between a 14-seater matatu and a long-distance trailer, occurring around 7 am on Sunday.
The matatu reportedly came to a halt in an unauthorized area, leading to a catastrophic collision with an oncoming trailer. The force of the impact caused the matatu to be dragged for a considerable distance.
Unfortunately, two additional individuals who were undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in the accident have now succumbed, further contributing to the grim toll.
Nakuru West Subcounty Police commander, Francis Wahome, confirmed that investigations into the incident are underway. The tragedy resulted in five immediate casualties, as stated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a post on X. The authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding this devastating accident.
